Katie Paro is passionate about helping children (ages 3+), teens, adults, and families find healing and balance in their lives. Her areas of expertise include play therapy, individual counseling for teens and adults, parent coaching, anxiety, trauma, high-conflict families, separation/divorce, blended families, and reunification. As a mother herself, Katie understands how overwhelming and complex parenting can be. She has a particular calling to support mothers who are working to heal from their own childhood challenges while breaking generational cycles for their children.

Katie grew up in Wisconsin and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin. After a successful career in marketing and transformative life experiences, she followed her passion for helping others by earning her Master of Social Work degree from Walden University. She is now a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in Georgia under clinical supervision, a Certified Trauma Professional (CTP), and has extensive training in trauma-informed care, play therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and parent training.

Katie’s experience spans behavioral health, private practice, and school settings, giving her deep insight into the systems that influence clients’ lives. She helps clients navigate the challenges these systems bring while fostering resilience and self-discovery. Katie believes that healing begins when clients feel safe enough to explore and address what’s holding them back.

n addition to practicing at Atlanta Wellness Collective, Katie enjoys spending quality time with her partner, kids, dogs, and extended family. She recharges by running, hiking, soaking up nature, watching football with her family, and curling up with a good book and a cup of coffee. Katie strives for balance in her own life and brings this same mindful, balanced approach to her work with clients.
