Whether you’ve experienced one traumatic event or several, Kate Rayfield offers a safe space to ‘speak the unspeakable’ parts of your story and invite healing into the darkest places. She is sensitive to the way our stories and experiences may find a home in our bodies and is passionate about integrating mind-body awareness into the healing process. Specifically, Kate has a passion for working with teens (15+) and adults experiencing complex trauma and PTSD, anxiety and worry, family and relationship issues, grief and loss, religious or spiritual issues, and survivors of abuse. She has specific, advanced training in trauma-informed care, including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), providing an evidenced-based framework to help individuals experience healing from traumatic events. When appropriate, Kate enjoys working with clients who wish to incorporate their faith into counseling.

In addition to practicing at Atlanta Wellness Collective, Kate enjoys practicing yoga, trying new restaurants, and exploring antique stores with her husband. Kate is an avid reader and enjoys working with her hands by practicing calligraphy and watercolor painting.

Kate received a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Richmont Graduate University with a Certificate in Trauma Counseling. She was also the recipient of a Behavioral Health Workforce Fellowship and has experience working at Emory University Hospital’s Intensive Outpatient Program. Kate is board-certified by the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) and is licensed as an Associate Professional Counselor under direction and supervision.

A note from Kate —

I believe that the trusting relationship that can develop between counselor and client may be a place where new chapters form and resilience is cultivated. As we create a safe and trusting relationship, I hope to come alongside you and look inward together with compassion and curiosity.
