Getting The Most Out of Your First Appointment

Maybe you’ve met with a mental health professional before or possibly you’re searching for someone to fit your needs. There is nothing wrong with seeking help and guidance throughout different times of your life.

If you’re a new client, visiting our office for the first time can lead to many feelings from anxiety and nervousness to fear and apprehension. Maybe you’re unsure what to expect during an initial visit. We suggest reading over the following suggestions prior to your first visit.

Finding a good fit made simple.

We’re dedicated to providing exceptional, client-centered mental health services that empower individuals, couples, families, and groups on their unique journeys toward well-being. Our providers are licensed mental health professionals, and our services are backed by research, education, and training. However, it can feel overwhelming trying to find a provider who is a good fit for your unique goals.

Choosing the right provider for your needs is a crucial step towards starting your counseling journey. Our goal is to ensure you find the best match for your unique situation. To help you in this process, we offer two convenient options:

  1. Explore Our Provider Directory: Browse through our comprehensive Provider Directory to learn more about the specialties and approaches of our counselors. This resource allows you to find a provider whose expertise aligns with your needs and preferences.

  2. Request a Personalized Consultation: If you prefer a more personalized approach, you can request a free consultation with our office. Our team will take the time to understand your specific needs and recommend a provider who is best suited to support you based on location, fees, availability, speciality, and more. Complete your new client paperwork.

Once you’ve scheduled your initial appointment (or initial parent appointment), you’ll receive an email with a link to your Client Portal to complete your new client paperwork. Please complete your new client forms at least 24 hours prior to your initial appointment.

During a first appointment, you’ll discuss your paperwork, your personal history, your goals, and what you’ve tried in the past. You’ll work together with your provider to create a plan that fits your needs and lifestyle.

Discussing your concerns and goals with a professional.

During your initial visit, you and your provider will work together to create next steps for treatment and make sure the relationship will be a good fit.

Expect to feel some nervousness for your initial appointment. Sharing your concerns with someone for the first time can be intimidating. We provide a comfortable, modern, and professional environment so you can enjoy your appointments.
